Default New Girl from NC

My parents recently picked me up a 1999 Blazer. It has issues (they gave about $1k for it). My dad says fixing it up will teach me something and i will be a better adult for it. hmm.... Can you tell he is a Marine?

All I know is it looks like I am in for a few weekends of greasy hands. While my dad will help me and I am always helping him on his truck (99 2500 Silverado that I wish I could have), I will still have many questions for you all.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks all. My dad made me flush the filling system, rotate the tires, and change the oil yesterday. I guess a tune up is next.

I want to know what radio options I have. I like the truck so far, just wish it was 4x4. He says that swap isn't worth it. At least I can haul my motorcycle and hunting gear in it.

Regarding your radio options: In a 99 your factory radio will be a 1.5 DIN size. Any store that sells stereo equipment will carry the dash-kit, harness and antenna adapters for your truck.

Your dad is right! My dad (Army) wouldn't let me even get a license until I learned to work on a vehicle. It has saved me so much money! I still deal with the occasional a$$hat at the auto parts store who think women can't and shouldn't be getting greasy. Welcome and good luck!
