Welcome from another RHD Blazer owner in Devon - anything you need to know just gimme a shout. Have had mine for 5 years now + had a US market LHD one for 6 years before that. Have worked on 4 others for various friends, have got to know all the little quirks about them. I have a GM factory manual too which covers the RHD models. Basically they're great vehicles, some RHD specific parts are obsolete now though, in particular keep that steering pitman arm greased because new ones are unobtainable now.
Keep the vehicle well maintained & it'll be a good friend to you - just like mine has been!

Hi Corne,
Blazer aren't known for good fuel consumption but what you're getting (after converting to miles per gallon) is not good at all!
I get around 24mpg out of mine (average) on a good run, which roughly converted is about 8.4Km per liter. Around town is obviously much less. It makes me laugh when I see Blazers advertised for sale with people claiming to get 30mpg - it just isn't possible.
Have you checked obvious things like seeing if you have binding brakes? Other causes could be a fuel leak, a clogged air filter, or even worn spark plugs could cause you to use more fuel than you should?
A good service would be a good place to start if you haven't done it already?

thanks but I've done all of that!!! I love my blazer but its making me bankrupt due to fuel consumption!!!! do you know how to or where do you check for fuel pressure on my 1999 blazer? I have heard that if the fuel pressure is low it will lean out the blazer and make it heavy on fuel! and what is the fuel pressure suppose to be???
thanks a lot!!!

Corne put a fuel pressure gauge on it.
Key on, engine off, fuel pump running, pressure must be 60psi to 66psi, (this is your regulated fuelpressure). It must remain above 55psi for at least 10 minutes after the pump shuts off. To rule out an injector problem do the test from the fuel filter.
