New member looking for a Blazer...
Hey guys!
I'm not a Blazer owner yet, though I have put a ton of miles on my grandfather's '89 S15.
A little about myself, I'm an 18 year old senior who's made a little bit of money designing and coding educational video games for Longwood University. I am currently driving a '93 Corvette, though I am looking for a Blazer/Jimmy to take with me to ODU. The city of Norfolk isn't too kind to my vette.
I'm specifically looking for a first-gen 2-door 4wd 5-speed Blazer/Jimmy. Do you guys know if such a car exists? I know that's pretty specific, but I'm bored by automatics and I want a small 4wd Blazer for decent gas mileage but I still want to be able to go out on the beaches of OBX and not get stuck.
I'm glad to join the forum, I've been a member of the CorvetteForum for about 7 months now and I've racked up almost 700 posts there. I've learned a lot on there, and I'm hoping to gather a lot from this forum as well as one of the other Blazer forums I've joined.
Thanks,
-Jay

I don't think the Blazer you described exists in the Chevy factory catalog. However, you could pick up a good 2 door Blazer with 4WD and then drop a Corvette LS engine and manual trans in it and you would have the best of both worlds. A sleeper for sure. You would have to be careful when you were at the beach and in '4WD low' and hit the accel pedal. You could dig yourself in deep in a hurry. Seriously there are many S-10's and Blazers/Jimmys running around with Chevy V8's stuffed in them. Try Googling that and see what you can find.
Welcome from Alberta. 5 speed Blazers are pretty rare, although you could find them in the S10's pretty easy. If you wanted a bit of a project it probably wouldn't be that hard to swap a 5 speed from a 4x4 S10 into a 4x4 Blazer.
