Default New and THANK YOU!

Hi Folks,

I finally registered here after utilizing this wonderful forum for a few weeks. I have performed a great deal of maintenance my new (to me) 1997 2-door Blazer 4WD. All of the tips and tricks I needed were right here on this forum, so I owe all of the contributors, expecially the forum admin -swartlkk, a huge THANKS! The advice on dealing with the OBDII codes is top notch.

So in a nutshell here are the problems I have dealt with succesfully as a result of this forum:
1) 4wd won't go into 4wd: corroded TCCM plug
2) 4wd again: Encoder module
3) 4wd final: TC vacuum switch
4) P1870 hard 1-2 upshift: Went to tranny shop on this one armed with knowledge from here. $280 - all good.
5) P0440 - gas cap, then fuel filter, then Vent Solenoid. Think the new Solenoid fixed it (cross fingers here) as the old one was stuffed with debris.
- Did nto fix this. Still getting that P0440 error at about 1/2 tank after each fill up.
6) Floor shift hand lever **** disintegrated. Had no idea how to get that thing off until reading about the front clip on here. $11.87 from junk yard - all good.
7) I have to add Wiper Circuit Board to this list!

So here is the thing: I like my little Blazer, it looks good, runs like a sewing machine, and is fun to drive. It looks real sweet for a 13 year old vehicle. Sure, I am out a few bucks and some wrench time, but time well spent. So thanks folks, I hope all the new people find the answers on here as informative as I have.
