4.3 engine upgrade
Hay I was wondering if anyone will give me some pointers on where to get things done, what to get, and maybe how to go about doing things to upgrade the engine. I want to take my 4.3 that I have in the blazer and build it up to handle a strong turbo, and still have the 4x4 in it of course have that and the tranny redone or new. this is not a hurry project, but I'm a perfectonist to have it done to the 110%. so if anyone will help me out that will be very appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

I always start with the basics and work my way up.
Freemods if any are left, bolt-ons like CAI, headers/ORY/muffler, ignition box, MSD wires, chip/tune etc.

Thank you for responding. I was wondering a few things what are the bolt on CAI and the ORY, I can sort of do the minor things but dont know what a lot of things are.

A strong turbo will destroy your stock engine. Most guys that have big turbos have built engines with hardened internals, lower compression pistons, wilder camshafts, hotter spark and many other goodies. If the money is not an issue then go nuts, but its going to cost you alot. Ive read in the forums of guys boosting their 4.3s but i dont think they had major boost. grab a coffee and park your but in the forums for a while and search around, there is a few fast trucks lurking around here, also check the build threads to see what they have done. If you want to see 110%+a whole lotta love, then check out Gregs blue Tyclone gran sport - it will make your toes pop! Feel free to try out the search header up top, you never know what you will find.

Turbo? STRONG tubro? You're looking at a better crank, pushrods, connecting rods, lower comp pistons along with everything ohsofly mentionned. I'd upgrade the rockers, valve springs... blah blah blah... Do your homework before undertaking something like this. You'll also want to find a dyno-tuner who can get the most out of your new mods... you can't just slap it all on with a stock computer and expect it to run right.

If you're looking for horse power, just do a 350 swap. It will cost almost the same amount, if not cheaper, than building up your 4.3 to handle a turbo. And along with that, turbo's and superchargers for blazers run around $2,000. Check into a V8.

You'll want to have forged internal put in the motor
