Christine is well equipped
Hope you could still enjoy the landscape it's awesome.
Oh yeah. I love being out there doing stuff. Don't get me wrong, filling my freezer with a cow elk would have been great but it is a form of vacation for me.
And if I had gotten elk down, I would have had to put to use a whole other set of tools and equipment to get it from the woods to the truck. One rule I did implement was that I would only hunt UPHILL of the truck so that any recovery would be easier. LOL

Can't you use bait or something to make them climb in the truck before you shoot them?
I forgot to post that I got myself stuck last weekend. The snow was heavy and just deep enough. I almost had an excuse to try out my Bush Winch but instead I had good practice using my recovery tracks. These are $65 eBay special Bull Trax not the super nice Max Trax that are about 5x more expensive.
A couple lessons I learned:
My next tires will have a much more aggressive tread.
It helps to have the recovery tracks positioned so that they incline a bit up away from the tires so to get traction.
I should have put on my chains when I started out but what is the fun in that?
I'm going to add some leads so that if they get buried I can easily find them. (I just now got this idea from the video at the bottom.)
When I was backing up, I got out of the ruts and into the softer and deeper stuff. D'Oh!
