Default Recovery Tracks

What do you all use for recovery tracks? I've carried some small ones I found at Wally-Mart but they got chewed up a bit last year when I had to help a Dodge 3/4 PU get unstuck from the snow.

I'm not a big off-roader so I'm thinking that for me the $300 Maxtrax are overkill (with regard to longevity) and so I am thinking the X-Bull ones on eBay would be good for the occasional use to get myself unstuck from snow during hunting season. Reviews of the X-Bull ones seem to agree that they can work fine but might not last as long as the Maxtrax. They also don't stack as nicely but again for occasional use, I'm not so worried about that.

Thoughts?

My "recovery tracks" sit on my front bumper in the form of a Warn 12000lb. winch.

I got a pic in my thread of a "tow truck in a box", 3 aluminum plates that have grips for the tires, got 2 boxes totaling 6 pieces. Worked amazing when I got stuck in a sand dunes with street tires lol.

I'll update this post with the pic if I find it.

Edit:

I'm not sure if they make or sell them anymore. But can get better pics when I get them out next time(not guaranteed when, but will happen).

I could say the same, but when there's no anchor points around, then what...

I use a winch up front and chains for all four tires. Been working for me for a number of years in the nastiest of the nasty.

Bury something (spare tire?) and anchor to that.

I've seen someone use their bumper jack hammered into the ground... they were stuck in a swamp without a tree in sight...

I have a set of cheap Wally world ones in the wife's car. I also have been looking into the x bull ones.
