how big of a hassle would attaching a zr2 style tire carrier to the back of my 4x4 4dr be?

Don't do it! I have one, 2nd truck in a row and i dislike it. It wrinkles your fender from the weight, twists the body(my triangle rear window on pass side doesn't line up perfect anymore), creates rattles, blocks most of your view through the back window and makes it a pain to get into your back glass quickly.

They look cool but really it ends there, especially with oversized tires....IMO.
