Question 1974 blazer window weatherstrip

Hi guys,
Just bought a pretty clean '74 blazer. Pretty much original and all stock. It needed new weatherstrip around the windows. So i purchased the new weatherstrip from LMC Truck parts.. Its called the roof rail weatherstrip. It mounts to the removable shell and slides into the black metal holder that is also mounted to the shell. It seals the window.

I need to find a new metal holder, looks like the driver side one is a little tweaked and won't hold the weatherstrip in place. I've searched though manny of the online sites and have called the other big dealer of repro parts, classic industries. To no avail, I can not locate this part.

Does any one know where Ii may be able to find one? New or used..
Thanks Doug

I think I know the part you are talking about. If it is what I am thinking of, you'll either have to get one from a junker, or repair the one you currently have.

yeah, its the actual piece of metal that installs on the removable shell. the weatherstrip is held in place with the metal channel...

i think im gonna get some strong glue and just try to glue the weatherstrip into the channel..

i doubt this part will be found in a junkyard.

thanks for the info..

well i guess if anyone has this part --the drivers side--drop me a note and ill buy it from you..

thanks doug

Now you're thinkin'!

There aren't many full-vert 2nd gens out there and even fewer here. I think your best bet would be to make them if you can't find replacements.

Look in the right side of the bar with my username.

By 'here', I meant on the forums. I'm about to pick up my second top here shortly by way of a hedgerow find '74 Jimmy that has seen MUCH better days, but has a lot of useful stuff on it.

man i know the piece your looking for... and have a untouched junkyard your going to have to fab up something!... or hope the super glue holds... i had a 1971 that a guy came 1000 miles to buy from me, at one time, because he was looking for those type pieces.. and amazingly enough mine were in good shape and the guy was extremely happy...
Classicparts.com might have them now.. but they didnt when i had mine
