Have a '02 with the cassette player in the center console. Has anyone come-up with a good replacement for where the cassette player is at? Are there replacement consoles without the cassette player....or did all these years come with the cassette player?''

What cassette player you ask....that is part of my question. I wanted to know if all 2000 - 2004 Blazers came with the cassette player. Yes I have a 4 dr 4WD version; the cassette player is under the dash on the floor, in front of the cup holders in the center console.

If there are ones without this (option??)...then perhaps I just do a swap-out of center consoles. Do the Blazers without the cassette player have nothing there, or a shelf, or ??

There are ones without the option. My old LT model had the cassette player but my new LS doesn't.

 

Yeah, without the cassette player on the floor, its just a shelf in front of the cup holders. My '98 doesn't have the player.

I do not have a casette player, but I have a 2dr. infront of my cup holders, like previously mentioned by mdehoogh , i also have an open 'storage tray' you could say

 

Did some checking on ebay looking at various Blazers and did finally see a shot of the center console. So it is an option that mine has. I would prefer to have the open shelf than the cassette player, but this would require a complete center console be swapped in. Doubt that I will be able to find one.

Why would GM offer a cassette in 2002? Makes no sense. It came with a single disk CD....now if it came with a mult-disc CD...that would make sense....but a cassette....???

Oh well....maybe I can be a CB to fit in that spot.

 

I think there is a 99 being parted on here with a pic of center console(don't recall seeing casette)

i have an 02 4dr 4wd and it too has the cassete player. i do a lot of hunting with my blazer and i have put some thought into just removing the center console all together and building a rack to put guns in. anyone know what is under the console?
if its just carpet then i'll probably just remove it.
