i have a 2002 blazer and the drivers door will not stay open. is this due to worn out spring.

How due you replace the spring is it that hard?

you need a door spring compressor, but no it's not hard. it might be that the other piece is corroded and not moving freely though.

 

my door opens and closes without any problem. it is just when it is open it will slowly go closed like there is not tension to hold it open.


does this sound like the spring?


watched some videos on how to replace and does not look to hard. Just want to replace the right part.

 

The spring pushes against a part that rotates, if that's seized it could cause the problem. I would look at that before replacing the spring.
