So I made it to the body shop to inquire about getting the damage fixed that was caused by a jeep hitting my right rear bumper. What will have to be replaced is the bumper itself, the top black rubber cover and the corner valence. It is the corner cap/valance that are getting hard to find. They had to go to a NOS place to find one. And even then, they'll have to reuse the original black/chrome strip on its side. Turns out the lift gate had a little bit of damage requiring it to be pushed out and the paint was scratched enough on the lift-gate that will need to be fixed to prevent future pealing of the clear coat.
And because of the scarcity of the lift-gate badging, they will have to use a "TrailBlazer" one cut down to say "Blazer."
I also learned that the stock running boards like I have are getting pretty hard to find. I was told that the price for a pair from a wrecking yard can be upwards to $500!
Glad you're getting it fixed, but that ain't cheap.
The other person's insurance company is covering the bill. Although I did tell the body shop when they get it to look for any little things that should be fixed to preserve the body; e.g. clear-coat and paint issues. I might have them done at the same time (paid by me) so to keep the Blazer in good shape.
Check on the lift gate hinges attachment to the gate. Sometimes when you get hit it damages the paint around and under the hinge attachment plate.
Also once the bumper is off the truck, they should carefully check for paint damage. Sometimes the corner makes a scratch on the lower side panel under the bumper, eventually also hitting the aft corner of the wheel arch.
