No not at all, I have a 96 with the same headlights as yours and its a 4 door. I want to do the swap to about a 2000's headlights to get that built in white fog/driving lights. I hope the fenders are the same, and I did just notice if we do the swap, the bumpers are different as they relocated the turn signal into the headlight assemply intead of the bumper.

Sounds fun though.

The blue Blazer has "sealed beam" headlights, and the red one has "composite" lights.

My four-door 96 came with the sealed beams, like yours, but I did an H3 conversion, which is cheaper than the 98+ upgrade. It will require that you get the housings and H3 bulbs. It will require some cutting and crimping, though it's easier than you might think. You also may need to feed new wiring to the lights, as the factory wiring is poor quality and may trip your headlight relay, as it did with mine.

If you intend to do the 98+ conversion, be sure to run a Search first, because many people on this forum have done it already and can tell you exactly what parts you need and how much effort is involved. I opted to keep my truck looking like a 96 out of respect for the 96es -- but it's your truck, and you should do whatever makes you happy. Hope this helps.

That helps me! Thank you.

I have tried searching a bit,and have looked under grill swap, 2000 swap, and others, nothing comes up but what I have already found. Any way you can tell me where to go? Thanks.

Try "98 Front End Conversion." I believe all the parts you will need from a 1998 or later truck are:
  • 1 set of 9005 bulbs (high beams)
  • 1 set of 9006 bulbs (low beams)
  • Headlight Wiring Harness (oh yeah, I have this! Click here!)
  • Headlight Housings and Brackets
  • Grille
  • Radiator Bracket
  • Bumper Valance
You might be able to get everything you need from a junkyard. I have the wiring harness if you want it, but I will tell you in advance that it's a little different between model years where the headlight harness plugs up, so you may need to modify it a little.

WOW! I just called like 3 different places, looks like about $400 - $600 for this little upgrade, I will put that one on the back burner, I thought cash for clunkers would help...lol
