Default 96 blazer trim removal?

Ok so the trim with the badges on them that are on both sides of the blazer the cover peeled off and they are starting to flake and it just looks like **** honestly. So I want to remove them does it look good without the trim because I'm not getting the rockers and bottom painted for a little while. Is there anything else I need I know fishing string goop off and a heat gun and time will get the trim off. Any tips would be appreciated thanks ahead of time.
