Default '96 Rear Step Bumper Pad/cover

We had to replace the rear bumper on the '96 S10 Blazer today. The plastic bumper cover from the top of the bumper lost all of it's plastic fastening studs during the accident/removal. I'd like to salvage the pad instead of paying $40 for a new one, but have to figure out how to fasten it to the new bumper with something more attractive than using sheet metal screws to fasten it down!

Any suggestions appreciated.

There's a caulking called "no nails" stuff works pretty damn good and sticks to pretty much everything.
