Default 98 and up mirrors on a 97

So I went to the boneyard for a replacement driver's side mirror for my 97. None available. But plenty of 98 or newer ones. So I went ahead and bought both sides thinking they would mount right up, no problem. And they do. BUT, the wiring harnesses are different. Apparently the new ones have heated glass, whereas the originals did not. So I'm guessing I'm gonna have to splice together the wires I have so at least the power functions work. Has anyone else done this? I have not seen anything on here about this. I guess a wiring diagram of both types would be enough to get me started. Anyone? Thanks in advance!!

When I purchased my 98 four years ago, the mirrors were barely hanging on.
So I did some research, hands on, at the u pull it.
After messing around in the bone yard, I came to the same realization you are having now.
My mirrors are very similar to the 95-97 in shape, but are heated, which is a completely different plug from just the power kind. (I found this out after buying a set.)
The 99+ mirrors were a complete redesign... Heavier duty, but kind of bulky.
I ended up ordering brand new mirrors from discountautomirrors.com.
They have worked great for over 3 years.
Now, it is possible to splice wires, and I think there is info on one of these posts about it.
No diagrams here, but hopefully you find some of my ramblings useful.
Btw, I did recently compile a bunch of aftermarket mirror links on another post on here, under this same category.

Cool. I think I'll just mount the up and leave them unhooked for now. At least I'll have mirrors. I'm gonna have to fix the driver's door anyway. The usual stuff, bushings, speakers, busted pull handle, and you know the rest. Thanks!
