Default 99 LS Blazer Center Console Lid

My center console lid is falling apart, flimsy, has stuffing falling out and is pretty lumpy from years of being leaned on and used.

I know I could look around junkyards for another replacement one, but are there better alternatives? I have seen some repair kits while searching around the web, but nothing looks legit or like it would solve my problem.

Any ideas would be awesome!

Hey it's beaker!

There are no replacements available to the best of my knowledge. You could look on eBay if you don't want to be bothered searching thru a junkyard

there are a couple of different ones. Post a pic of yours and I'll look for one on my next trip to the yard.

I bought a replacement from the scrap yard in advance of my current one failing.

I did have the thought to open it up...looks like several 7mm(?) bolts holding the inside together, then add a metal endoskeleton and some sort of padding.

I will post pics when (if) I get that far.

On mine the hinge is actually broken away from the inside of the compartment.
I was looking at just using 2 or 3 strips of plastic to at least create a makeshift hinge.

Funny. My dad has a nail in his as a hinge pin in his 2000 Acura el.
