The Cobra 19 is a very cheaply made CB, which is why they don't cost a lot. If you want a small chassis CB I would look at the Cobra 25. If you have a little more room for mounting check out the Cobra 29. Both are dependable AM only radios that will provide years of trouble free service. If you are looking for a CB that also has SSB mode have a look at the Cobra 148, the Galaxy DX959 or the Galaxy DX979. Those are the biggest bang for your buck CBs currently on the market.

If you want to get a good mount for your Blazer/Jimmy and make sure you dont look like a fool and also perform well is look at "Hustler mounts" find the one that suits your application and desire to "drill" or Not to drill. Also look at Hustler folding mast that are 60 inches long great for 11 meter and has a 90 degree bend to fold down and release as well. As for radios Cobra 29 GTL is good basic AM radio If you want to talk SSB and have a little more punch Cobra 148 GTL as well great radio for the rig..

Would it be wrong to put it on the front bumper? I thought I saw someone put two (one on each side) of their front bumper and personally I thought it looked pretty cool. Granted, most of the time, one antenna is better than two. If I ever do the two on the front (which I was planning on) I'd probably only use one of the two. I just like the look of it.

one of my friends had little 12" or maybe 16" whips on his front bumper of his gmc pick up, it looked really good actually to me at least. He called them curb hitters (even tho i think there backwards for that lol)

you can see it on the drivers front in this pic

50 states legal radar.....err police detector. The top mount with a fold away bracket is probably the best idea for getting the signal out, the range is usually about 5 mi line of sight on a CB but of course it can travel further. Placement of a CB antenna is not limited though placement can limit what you recieve/transmit, i.e. up front could lead to some engine noise(not usual in newer vehicles) and rear placement would hamper recieving further out in front. Not that anyone would notice unless you broke out the meters..........

The reason the fuse is blowing.. It depends are you going str8 to the fuse box if so check the fuse size you should be at 7 amp you may be useing a low amp fuse.check the recommend size for that. If you going thru the cig lighter plug check for 2 things on the plug itself 1 cracks and two possible ground pin is shorting out inside the plug itself typical can be pulled out with needle nose pliers...
