Default Custom Fender Flares

I know a place to get some cheap metal and I was wondering if it would look dumb to throw some custom made fender flares onto an '01 4-Door?

It's not just scrap metal that's been used for other things it's actually good looking metal, and I would take my time and polish it up as best as I could, I just wanted your guys' opinions first.

Any input?

I don't see why not...as long as it's done right. ZR2's come stock with flares, as do the European and Asian/Australia Blazers.

Maybe try Flexy Flares. I got a set of 4 for around $130 & they're 4 1/2" wide!

They have other sizes too.

The problem with the flexy flares is that they fit onto a sharp lip...

I want something that would cover up the 1" flare of the body itself you know?

I figured if I got some metal I could bolt it directly above the "body-flares" so you wouldn't see them,

Plus I think it would make the tires look bigger, like they're filling up more space, and give the car a more aggressive, wider stance.

If I'm wrong about the flexy flares please let me know, It just seemed like they wouldn't cover up what I'de like it to.........thank you very much though

I have to admit they do look nice....But I think I'm either going to try to find some that cover it up or just go ahead with the custom ones.

Thank you for your input though Rottidog, very much apprecited!

Any other ideas?

Here's an idea that I'll be doing shortly seeing as I have the flexy flares on already.
I'm going to get either undercoating or bed liner & put that on around/above the flares on that lip (factory fender flare) & down along the rocker panels to protect them from all the crap those tires kick up.
