Default Fender flare, defined...

Hey all,

I was looking to buy some mud flaps / splash guards for my 2001 Blazer 4x4 4 door LT... the aftermarket sites ask if the truck has factory fender flares and side molding. I know what side molding is, but what is considered a factory fender flare?

My blazer has the little maybe 2" raised section of metal all the way around the wheel openings, but it's not pronounced like it is on other blazers, like the one shown on this forum's logo. Is is only considered afactory fender flare when it's large-sized like this, so that would mean mine does not have fender flares?

Anyone have a source for mud flaps that have "Blazer" written on them?

Thanks for the input! Terry

Hi there. As far as I know the only Blazer trim package with pronounced flairs is the ZR2 like the one above. As far as the mudflaps go, I saw some at Pepboys with bowties. I bet you could make some to your liking with some vinyls and a little bit of clear. Good luck!

Yours does not have fender flares , they only come with the wide stance ZR2 package and that is only available in a 2 door ..
And yes , they are made of plastic and are painted Spectra Grey from the factory as seen here on my truck ..

Thanks everyone for the input! Mine is the plain steel, not the plastic. Looks like GM used to make Blazer-logo flaps at one point, I saw one set on ebay. Since I want all 4 to match, PepBoys might be the way to go...
