Default Gauge bezel removal for paint?

00' Jimmy. Does anyone have any instructions on how to remove the gauge bezel? I want to paint it, but I don't know how to remove the clear plastic on the front. I've seen overlays you can buy for them, but I'm looking to paint it to color match my truck? Is it glued on ot melted on? Because I'm afraid to heat it up and melt the clear plastic.
Just not to confuse what I'm talking about. I removed the gauge cluster from the dash and popped the gauge bezel (with the clear plastic on it) off the gauges.
