Okay got a question for you guys. I have a stock rear bumper on my truck and I was thinking about adding a hitch, now keep in mind that I don't tow very much. I want to know if I can get a hitch that hides right behind my bumper(completely out of site) and maybe get a flip down or up licence plate holder and have the hitch come out there when I actually need it I can put the ball and everything through the bumper (when needed) And what company sells it?

I have never ever seen this for any vehicle but I am not saying there isnt such a thing, sounds more of a custom welded hitch frame. I just installed a hitch on my blazer a week or so ago. It takes about an hour to install it just because you have to take the bumper off, but its not hard at all. After installation the hitch could not be seen except for the shaft where you slide the ball and mount into.

you could prolly just custom this up with a small hydrolic thing. Or something. Now the flip up license will be far from legal as the officers will not be able to see the numbers and all.
Now you can rigup something to mount the hitch behind the plate. Then cut out the area for the plate. now you rig it up to the hinge's or hydrolic and mount it to the license plate bracket. Then from there it's pretty self explanitory

ive seen it done with rollpans. the license plate will flip up and lay on top of the tounge of the trailer. i dunno if it will work though if ur spare is under ur truck.

Yeah, I think the spare tire is in the way. It scrubs on my factory hitch in the Bravada as is, and that is after the hitch drops down in the back to be right under the bumper. I really like the way the factory hitches tuck up under.

yup, can't agree more. I personally ordered my hitch from gmpartsdirect so my blazer would have the stock hitch look. it doesn't hang low and is tucked up there nicely. i post pics but my truck is still in the body shop

Thats the one Jagblazer01 I was wandering if the one that usually would go behind a rollpan would go behind my stock bumper(my spare is mounted on the inside on the drivers side. Not really worried about the plate thing being legal as like I said I tow VERY LITTLE and not very far so I could prolly risk it for a few minutes here and there.
