Question ipod use

Hi; I have a 2005 GMC Jimmy which I believe is the same as the 2005 blazer. My problem is the dash panel where the ashtray used to be houses the cigarette lighter/ external power socket. mine doesn't work and i need to take that panel off. I've tried but I don't want to break it getting it off. Does anyone know how this thing comes off so i can check the wiring?

1. Remove 4 screws holding the panel under the steering wheel and just drop it down (won't come completely w/o disconnecting the e-brake lever)
2. Remove the 3 screws holding the dash "surround" or Bezel on, 1 screw on each side of the steering column, and 1 screw above the guage cluster.
3. Tug firmly on the bezel and it should pop out, you don't need to remove completely.
4. You'll see two screws under the air controls, remove these and the panel should drop enough to get to the lighter, if not just keep looking for screws...

Just follow what's relevant in the video in this thread: https://blazerforum.com/forum/article-submissions-discussions-47/how-remove-dash-bezel-guage-cluster-98-a-31238/

Dumb question: Have you checked the fuse for the lighter? I assume there is one, I'd go check but my 05 Blazer is now owned by someone else
