What are these called...I know the gm part number...ok....how can they be removed for repainting and what steps for repainting for a DIY painter....gloss black...Thank you in advance..Tony

they are called appliques.

Per Alldata removal process is as follows:
1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove the pushpins.
3. Remove the molding from the vehicle.

for refinish should be able to scuff it with a scotchbrite pad and then paint it. make sure you scuff the entire part to ensure the paint adheres to the plastic.
