Default rear glass "problem"

First off, I'm not too sure where to post this. If it's in the wrong place can a mod please fix that? Ok, my rear glass opens, but only if I pull on it when I pushthe button. If I don't pull right away it latches again. It does the same with the inside button. I took the tailgate apart and everything seems to be working properly. So, is this how it's designed? If so It would be pointless to have the inside button.

Posting you vehicle info helps us out a lot in cases like this. I recomend you put it in your signature like mine. But anyways, On my blazer, the window glass should pop out about an inch when the button is pressed (or the turn the key on the gate). This allows the window to be opened AFTER the button press instead of during. I would guess that whatever it is that actually pushes the glass out is worn/missing in your blazer. I've never looked so I can't say what the part is or if it's even fixable without just buying a new actuator. Have a look around LMCtruck.com, they have some nice detailed drawings for tailgate parts. Good luck!

I fixed my issue. I took the tailgate piece off to expose the latch and all the parts. All I did was loosen and slide back the piece thr latch mounts to. Now thr latch doesn't need to push ad far to release the glass.

Default Thank you!

I had this same problem, and that fixed it for me. Getting the silly plastic off the tailgate took longer than actually adjusting the do-hickey
