Rear quarter glass moulding

Rear quarter glass moulding
Ok I have done a search and have not found anything. I have a 01 Blazer Xtreme. The big black moulding that goes around the rear quarter glass is starting to look discolored and pitting. I want to paint it the color of the truck but dont have any idea as to if this has been done with success. What was used to get the moulding pits filled and smoothed out to prep it for paint. The rest of the truck is in 9.5 outta 10 paint wise and no dents. I know you cant get the moulding separate from the glass and all the ones I have seen in the junk yard I have found are as bad or worse than mine. So any help would be aprreciated.
Thanks

Pretty simple.
Clean, body filler, sand, paint. There is a thread on here somewhere that goes into much more detail but this is the Cliff's Notes version.

If someone has a link to that thread could you point me to it? I have tried searching but have come up with nothing.
