okay so here is the issue im having. i put on a new tailgate today because the original one was badly dented and would not close properly.

now with the new gate, the gate closes perfectly but when the gate is closed i cannot get the window to latch. (see photo) i can get the window to latch if i partially close the gate bring down the window and latch both simultaneously.

can anyone lend any ideas to the matter?

 

I think the latch is in the wrong position. I'm trying to remember how it looks when it's open. I think it needs to flip down because when you close it, the part that is up now locks behind the window latch holding it in place.

 

in the pic the latch is in the down position. the gate is fully closed and the window is falling short of locking into the latch
