so this is the pic I have at the moment. As you can see one bolt is longer then the other. The longer one came off the zr2.
THE LONG ONE WILL NOT FIT ON THE REGULAR 4X4, but you are able to use your original bolt.
The brackets and plate both came off the zr2. I put the bracket on a socket, and was able to hammer off the little piece that is attached to the hole on the bracket, where the bolt goes to the lower control arm location.
it is not installed yet as I havent taped the three front holes yet, but I bolted it to the brackets for a test fit, and it was golden. Hoping to get it on before the snow, but scheduling isnt the best at the moment.
Anyone know anything else about this version of the skid plates? Maybe these are worthless to most folks which is why they're not mentioned yet, but I feel like its worth documenting.
My apologies for not having photos...the parts yard is never kind on my phones so I typically leave it in my glove box to avoid issues. If I find myself back out that direction I'll find a way to grab some photos if there's enough popular demand.
Post 'em up! I've heard of these, but have yet to actually see a 2wd ZR2 Blazer.
Okay, I can't be the only one who has faced this. I'm trying to get the bolt out on the passenger side to install the bracket at the oil pan skid plate and the bolt doesn't have enough clearance to come out! Any tips/advice? The vice grips were there to try to get a bit more clearance, perhaps I need a C-clamp or something bigger? I also tried cussing at it, but perhaps didn't try hard enough.
Also, I realize there is grease on the left side of the photo. It's from my CV shafts...soon to be remedied.

I was able to get a bigger clamp in there and create enough room to remove the bolt and install the bracket. Not sure exactly how I would jack up the engine using a 2x6 unless I removed the engine mounts. Seems like an excessive amount of work just to add a bracket...if that were the only route I'd probably find myself running a skid plate with only 3 bolts.
Related to skid-plate fit-up, I found that both the ZR2 as well as the non-ZR2 carbon fiber transfer case skid plates fit my NP8. I ordered a ZR2 from Ebay and found that it works, but hangs down very low (as if the frame rails weren't already low enough). I ended up catching it on rocks and bottomed out once on it, which was enough to crack it. I ended up stumbling across a non-ZR2 version in the parts yard last week, so I grabbed it to try it out (along with a new gas tank skid, which I was missing). The t-case skid fits perfectly and gains me back at least 1 inch of vertical clearance. I didn't even need to remove the aluminum shield plate from the t-case.
