I don't know if anyone has done it before but on my blazer the side moulding was painted the same color as the truck and it started to fade, I didn't feel like painting it so I removed it and took to a shop that did spry in bedliner and had them rhino line it which turned out nice and won't really fade. So just a tip if anyone comes across the same problem and doesn't feel like painting it. It also kind of gives it more of a little rugged look.
