Cool Taking off roof rack

I will be taken off the roof rack on my ride real soon.I know some of you have done this procedure already.First of all ,I don`t need the roof rack at all.I`m not a big fan of hauling anything on top of a vehicle.Plus it looks 100% better without the roof rack on.My question is what did you do as far as sealing off the screw fasteners?Ex:,Did you take the fasteners off all together, plugged the holes up, then repainted them?Just left the screws in for a later use,or did you uses clear caulk to seal around the fasteners and holes?I`ve seen pictures of other members who have taken off their roof rack off.But couldn`t see what they did to seal off everything from the weather.I was thinking to clean up the area around the screw fasteners first(there will be a ring around the fasteners from the roof rack gaskets)then use a good quality, flexible clear caulk to seal the fasteners all together. Thanks!!
