Default 03 engine in 98 blazer

Have put a low mile 03 engine in 98 blazer. Was told cam is diffrent in 03 engine. It seems to run well but want more info. Would like to know if ECM/PCM is reprogrammed for new engine will it really help performance.

If reprogramming will help I need to find company around Peoria Illinois to do the work. If no company around Peoria I would be willing to go to location in Illinois or what other options do I have?

Thanks,

DREU62
