Default 305 sbc into 96 4x4 blazer

I have a 1996 4x4 Blazer with the 4.3. I also can get a 305 tbi sbc with computer,

what else would I need to make this work in my blazer? what could I get rid of out of the blazer?

sorry if this has been discussed before, but I am new to this forum

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I am sorry youre not satisfied with the service you have/havent received.

In the search box, Try SBC+swap

Everyone here volunteers their time. Therefore, the only payment they receive is in the form of solving a problem, helping a friend out and being treated in a courteous manner.

Have a nice day!

wasn't implying that I was dissatisfied... more that I am the impatient type and this truck is driving me crazy

I understand impatience. Maybe i took your remark the wrong way, but i think it might rub some others the wrong way too.

Why is the truck driving you crazy? I hope the motor swap isnt an attempt to fix a problem on your daily driver!

I do apologize for that, wasn't meant to come across that way

what is driving me crazy is trying what I can get rid of and what I need. I have a 91 305 and it's ecm... what else would I need?

what can I get rid of?

it is what will go into my daily driver,,,, the 4.3 leaks like a sieve, has no power and runs like it is missing on half the cylinders

Something to keep in mind, not sure what the emissions laws are down there in Texas, but your swap may not be street legal. I know around here you have to swap the same model year engine or newer or it won't pass.

That being said, try a Jagsthatrun.com swap book. Step by step instructions, and parts lists that will tell you all that you need to know.

laws where I am are easy... no sniffer test... just a safety walkaround

thanks for the name of the research book

Any time, hope it helps. I purchased one a while back in preparation of doing a swap that never happened. Still an interesting book worth keeping around for me though, haha.

Just my personal opinion, I would look into repairing the V6 if its your daily driver. Ive seen many swaps go bad.
