had thought about that
but
with being able to get a 305 and ecm for free from family
I thought it would be a great way to get the power I wanted without some of the cost that I would have otherwise. besides I would rather have a tbi system than the spider system

You'd also need the wiring harness, motor mounts, other such adapters, etc. I imagine for what you'd spend in swap parts, you could rebuild your V6 with a couple performance parts and easily get the power you would out of a stock 305.

What is the 305 out of?

as to wiring harness. are you referring to the one from the firewall to the engine?

Yup, the one that will power the engine, ecm, etc. You may need to repin it to plug correctly into your body harness, assuming they are the same plug.

If I'm not mistaken, that engine only makes about 175 HP. Your stock motor should make 190 HP. So you're adding weight and losing power with a stock motor the route you're looking at. Doesn't make any sense to me.

The other thing is looking at the age of both motors. Unless you are going to rebuild the '91 motor, it probably wouldn't be worth it.

"Can it?" Sure. Anything can do it. Reliably is the issue, and I don't know if I'd trust a 305 to do that as a DD.
