I'm convince that a 5.7, or even a 4.8/5.3 swap would be cheaper than trying to build a 4.3 up to similar HP/torque...

I 100% agree with that.. I've spent more time and money than a ls swap would cost on mine.. but I went into it expecting that.

Danny, the engine with the cam was in my truck and running/driving, but I pulled it out over the weekend to fix an oil leak, and install a marine intake manifold. I had not yet tuned it for the cam.

I suppose to have no where to talk though. I once invested over 2k into rebuilding a 22RE 4cyl for my 91 Toyota. Would have been SO much cheaper to just drop in a later model Toyota 3.4l V6, but it was still fun and I don't regret it lol
