NP231 and S10 Front Axle Strength
#1
So I'm still brainstorming with regards to my '94 GMC Jimmy. I was originally thinking of doing a straight small block chevy swap, but I also am considering doing some type of performance mods and retaining a 4.3 V6. I'm a little inspired by the Typhoon trucks and could see a turbo or nitrous project possibly. I'm thinking nitrous to keep the stock driveability and to keep me from running the crap out of it when I'm running around
I'm wondering, how much power could a NP231 handle if using it on the drag strip as an AWD case? Can it handle spinning up to 100 MPH in it's stock form?? Could the stock front axle from one of these trucks take any kind of torque on pavement? If not I know I can just keep it out of 4x4 but the torque of an AWD launch looks fun, to say the least.
