Default performance question

Please dont lock this lol, ive went threw thread after thread searching. I have a 2000 ls 4x4, i have a tick coming from the motor (theres a thread), i havent tryed cleaners or anything yet...but im really thinking about just throwing a cam and lifter set in the blazer (more so my dads idea). I want something that has more low end power with maybe a bump in MPG. Also im figure while im at it, maybe a after market intake mani? Has anyone ever did this? if so is it really worth the time and trouble? Thanks!

well i cant tell ya what kind of cam to get but you can get a mercury marine intake but it takes some fabricating and new fuel injectors and then you would need a custom tune but the intake itself dose not give you any gain it just allows you to use a bigger fuel injector where you can fuel a cam if you want to go carb edelbrock makes a carb head and intake kit you could get for around 2g's or wyjammer makes a 36lb fuel injection spider for 510$ then you get a custom tune at pcm for less

Basically what he is trying to say is a v8 swap is More beneficial, more parts to come by and just better in general areas if you are looking for raw power.

thats the thing, im not looking for any type of raw Hp. im more less saying since ill have it all torn apart, should i just throw some upgrade on it. I would like a little more pep out of tho. If it just had a little more power from a stop i would be happy. I have a 06 cobalt ss supercharged so that gives me my speed/power fix lol.

Hmm Well im sure if you got a hot cam etc for it the ecm will have to be reprogrammed to get the most out of it. If i was you id try a cleaner,if that doesnt work then replace with oem parts. Spend the money on the cobalt. Im sure the thing is fun as hell to drive.

i might put a intake and exhaust on the blazer, but yea the cobalt is a blast to drive, almost 300whp and 28mpg in the city lol.

dude you might be happy with just some tuned exhaust cold air intake and a custom computer tune that would make it pretty snappy thats what i had on mine till i got the supercharger
