Precat removal, Louder better tone?

Precat removal, Louder better tone?
Hey guys, this is my first thread post on BF, I was contemplating getting the precat in my stock y pipe cut out and replaced with pipe in hopes of getting a little better tone from my cherry bomb extreme. I also have a stock cat. Do you think there will be a difference if it is removed or would that just be a waste of time and money? I have heard of these precats clogging and causing issues as well. Thanks
