Default Question about performance chips

I see that ebay have these performance chips from 5-40 bucks and I wanted to know if they work? These chips are surpose to increase HP by 20-25 and guess mileage by 4mpg. Do anybody know if this is true and if these chips really work? Do you have one?

What are you driving?

Most of the time those 'chips' are BS, and just trick the computer into thinking the incoming air is colder, and it dumps more fuel into the engine...

Its a rip off. Like said they try to fool the computer but most of the time the computer will recalabrate itself to fix the "problem". You can go buy 100 of their "chips" for like $5 at radio shack. Its nothing but a common resistor.
