Default Which v8 is best

I am a college student studying automotive engineering and I have convinced my parents to possible let me do a v8 swap for my senior project. I've done some searching but I have not found the answer to my main question and that is which v8 would be the easiest swap a 4.8 a 5.3 or 5.7

Easiest swap is a vortec 5.7 from a 96-00 full size.

Its a matter of motor mounts, exhaust, repining and adding a couple wires, possible oil pan change for clearance and having the computer reflashed to run the v8 that's really all that's involved in it. Of course there are little things along the way but those are the major hurtles. There are a few companies that sell these swap specific parts as well just google them

Check out the linke below for a S10 V8 Swap Manual. I think it has a lot of good practical advice. Others think not.

The older small blocks are the easiest. The newer LS engines are a better engine in every other respect. mmm...LS9

If I use a 96 and up 5.7 can I just flash my PCM or should I get the PCM off the truck?
Answered my own question.
What would be the difference in difficulty between an lt1 and a 5.7 out of a 96+ truck?
