rear lift? which is best?
well blocks you would be flipping the axle to under the leafs and that by itself is 5 inches of lift. if you're looking for say a 2 inch lift you and you want the same ride then go with shackles---add a leafs dont really add any height---on the trucks i've seen--just firm up the ride
i've got shackles coming friday so i'll do a how to [8D]

there isnt many options for the rear, you could do 2" shackles, get cusom made springs of your desired lift, or do a SOA (spring over axle) lift which is about 5" of lift, and with the SOA lift, you then have the possibility to do additional lift blocks, and add-a-leafs. with the SOA lift however, you might have to get a custom driveshaft that has 2 u-joints per side, this will prevent binding that might occur with stock u-joints. or you might be able to drop the rear of the tranny down an inch or so to compensate a little for the 5" of added lift in the back. either way, it isnt a simple bolt on lift.
my advice if yo dont want to custom fabricate to much is, do 2" shackles, max out the stock torsion bars in front to 2" lift, and do a 2, or 3" body lift. this will provide room for 33" tires without much cutting, and 35s with some help from the sawzall.

I'm getting my springs re-arched about 1-1.5 inches. They also will put in an extra leaf so they won't sag. Since the extra leaf is gonna match the arch on the rest of the springs, it's not supposed to make the ride too harsh. Costs more money but I feel that it's the best way to go.
