Heater Hose Specs
Hi all,
My inlet heater hose has sprung a (luckily very slow) leak in my 2001 Blazer 4WD. Easy fix, right? Well, my local parts store seems to carry only two kinds of molded heater hoses. One, labelled as being for the outlet side, and one for the inlet side....but which is way too short for that use in my vehicle. In my engine, the inlet hose is nearly as long as, and is molded to follow the same shape, as the outlet hose. The hose they gave me, and that I can find online is much much shorter, and not shaped with nearly as many bends as the one currently installed. That said, I'm wondering if the outlet hose is just mislabelled in their stock, and I wanted to know what the ID of the inlet and outlet hoses are, so I can check to see if I should just buy the "outlet" hose anyway, since it appears at least the correct shape in their stock pictures. Thank you in advance!

Outlet hose from the heater to water pump is 5/8 (19/32"). Inlet is 3/4" (23/32")
Try a different parts store. Sounds like your local yokel has the wrong info in his puter or looked up the wrong vehicle.
The hoses you need are GATES 19070 (Heater to Water Pump) Molded Heater Hose; 19/32" x 36-13/16"
or GATES 19707 (Heater To Engine ) Molded Heater Hose; 23/32" x 23-13/16"
Rockauto has the pair for under $20. If one leaks what are the odds the other will soon and with the price of Antifreeze?
