i can move the shifter all day long but 4x dont enguaged.

 

Have you searched the forum for a 1st gen fix for that?

Do you have to pull a lever to activate your 4WD?

 

 

Search though the forum for your problem. My truck is a 2nd gen. I have the push button 4x4. I had to replace my vacuum 4x4 system with a pull cable system. That fixed mine. But I'm not as familiar with your system.

If you can't find a fix, then repost your question with an accurate subject line and someone should be able to help you.

Use a subject line something like... 1st gen 4x4 not engaging or something like that and then explain in detail your problem.

 

yeah, im gunna replace the accuator and 4x4 indicator sensor this weekend if that dont fix it ill post somthing up.

 

So, with your pull lever, you still have a vacuum actuator?

If so, here is my how-to on replacing the vacuum actuator with a locking pull cable.

 

yeah i was also thinking about picking up that cable next weekend when i have the extra money.
