Hey I have a 2001 4 wheel drive blazer. My front bearings seem to be getting bad. From what I see you need to change the whole hub. How much work is it? Does it take to long? Any special tools needed? Thanks for any help, Matt

Hey guys, my 4WD 2001 Blazer LS 2 dr (170 000 km)may also require the replacing of the wheel bearing/hub assembly, a few questions first off. Is it worth doing both sides at once? or just the side the reallt requires it? Also since your doing work to the hub assy, is it worth changing anything else (ball joints etc?)...any info. would be appreciated

I would only replace the one side when it comes to wheel bearings. While you have everything apart, I would atleast check the ball joints and give them a good shot of grease, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If you let a bearing assemblygo too long, what will happen? (i.e. will the wheel fall off, will it tug on the CV shafts and ruin those, etc.)Asking cause i'm waiting for the weather to warm up here in Toronto so i'm hoping not to do to much damage/wear & tear to the other components.................thanks
