My first post! :-)
I picked up a full front end kit a few months back to replace my ball joints/tie rods/idler & center. Can someone point me to some posts on getting it done correctly and most importantly any "gotchas" or tricks I need to know?
...never owned a Chevy (or any American vehicle) I married into it. It has 140K and my wife wants to sell it and I realized I've grown fond of my "BoxerHauler" and if the dogs trash the interior I don't care, door panels are $30. It gets a dent - so what?, something breaks, parts are cheap and I have a full set of tools.
So now my wife drives my '09 C300 Mercedes and I drive the Blazer with my dogs hangin' out the windows and I'm a happy man!
Kid will be getting his license in a coupla years so I figure we can trick it out together as a project.

Make sure you have a ball joint separator handy. I dont know if that is the right name, but it looks like a forked wedge with a handle on it. You need to hammer that between the two items you are separating as someone else is undoing the nut with an impact gun.
That's really about the only advice I can see you needing other than make sure you adjust your tie rod lengths to match what you take off, so measure them up before you pull them off so the ones you put on are as close as possible - then get it aligned properly.
