Default 1st en 4x4 Blazer Trans Removal Help

Just bought the truck, a 1990 Jimmy 5 speed. got most of it apart but i ran into a dilemma. the transfer case is about 1.5 inches too long for clearing the cross member that holds the torsion bars. Is there a trick or do I need to remove the crossmember, im already out of Jacks so im kinda in a bind...

Thanks for your time
Brandon

glad to hear it.

the first time i pulled the trans out of my Jimmy, i was kinda scratching my head for a few minutes.

but then i found you can sneak the input shaft past the fingers on the clutch.

barely!

needless to say, the next time, i found out how much fun the upper, driver's bolt on the t/case is to remove, with a regular length wrench.

but i wouldn't change those fun days for anything. i luv'd having stick in my Jimmy!
