Default 2000 Blazer Hub Bearing

I replaced steering gear box. Had some play, This is my first post

No noise before the work was done. Blazer has 149000 miles on it.

Replaced the passenger side ball joint upper and lower. With a guy I know. He not as knowledge as he thinks. LOL There was thing he said that I needed not do I ended up doing. I am think the Bearing got messed up. This was a cluster.

When driving it has a grinding noise when breaking coming from the passenger side. While driving straight or turns.

Passenger backing plate checked and adjusted still grinding when breaking.
Replaced pads Caliper and Brake hose.

Removed hub bearing. I have significant hearing loss so I cant hear it . Over 20 years of Military service.

My son said when I spin the bearing it has a noise.
Also has significant side to side play when the twist the bearing in my hand s\Is there anything else I can be missing.

Thinking Iam going to replace the passenger axle. Being I had to put a clamp on it and add grease in sept. Seeping grease on the frame.

Is there anything else I can be missing. Does that play sound excessive. To me it does and I already order the bearing and going to replace it. Any help would be appreciated,

Bruce

With the tire on and jayked up, grab the tire at 3 and 9, move it back and forth to feel for play. also while some looks underneath grab the tire at 12 and 6 and do the same, if the hubs bad you`ll see the axle shaft move up and down.

If it's grinding just while in your hand, you need to replace it. Stay away from the cheap chinese knock offs. I've been through it myself and I've read about it on other forums - you may save money up front, but you'll be replacing it again in a year or so. For your hubs, I recommend Timken. They cost more upfront, but will save you the headache down the road.
