2000 Jimmy 4wd Malfunction
Alright so (buttons with needle and thread) I'm sure there are countless threads about this topic, but I'm really lazy at the moment and don't feel like scanning through threads.
I have a 2000 Jimmy SLE with the automatic transfer case: Last night I was leaving work (after a 36 hour shift mind you...) and the roads were slick, I put the Pig into 4WD auto and it drove just fine on the way home. After I got home, I can't remember if I put it back into 2HI when I parked in my driveway.
I got up this morning to go to my other job (it had snowed about 1 foot during the night) and the system did not want to go into 4wd, I hear constant clicking from under the glove box, the lights on the little panel keep lighting up, and the "Service 4WD" light comes on intermittently. With very little knowledge about 4WD systems, I think that it's the T-Case switch. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what was your solution?
About a month ago I changed all the fluid inside the front diff, rear diff, and T-Case, and did a full brake job while I was at it. Is it possible that I did something in those services to cause this damage?
CLIFF NOTES: 2000 Jimmy SLE, will not engage 4wd, the lights flash and the glove box clicks, I think it's the switch, your opinion?
