Default 3.08 Differential Gears

Does anyone run 3.08 gear ratios in the 1995 thru 2004 Blazer 4x4's.
GM option GU4. I wanted to know if the gas mileage is any better with the 3.08's. We drive around 90 miles per day & a few more miles per gallon would help. We have option GU6 gears. Thanks

Yes you will get better gas mileage with a 3.08 compared to a 3.42 3.73 gear. The smaller the number less rpms on the open highway.Higher the number the more rpms while on the open highway.

I had the 3.08 on my 81 Malibu. It had decent mpg for having a 350 v/8.The only draw back was it was sluggish off the line.It would fall back on it`s self when I punched it from a red light. If you have a 4x4 it`s best to have atleast the 3.42
