hey eveyone i want to put 373 gears in my 94 jimmy but every store is telling me i need to no what my factory rear is...how do i find out what my factory rear end is? thankyou

Your RPO code list on the glove box door will tell you... Search for RPO listing and you should find all the information you need.

these are the rpo codes for the different gears, look for one of these on the sticker in your glovebox. if GT4 is on there, then you already have 3.73


GU4 = 3.08
GU6 = 3.42
GT4 = 3.73
GT5 = 4.10

you should have a 7 5/8" rear differential

EDIT: i changed the 3.73 to say GT4. i had originally written GT5 for both the 3.73 and the 4.10

If you have a G87 in your RPO list, you've got the 8.5" rear

otnietdehoooo, you mean that gt4= 3.73.

diesel, also look for the code g80. wich is posi.

It's not really a posi... It's a gov-lok

at less than 20MPH it's locked up if there's wheel spin... at anything over than that, it's fully open, doesn't matter how much spinning you do... At least that's the way I read it on the eaton site...

The G80 is a Locker not a posi , G80 Gov Lock
