Default 4 Low Issue

So today I changed my transfer case among other things thinking it would solve my slipping 4 low issue. Well, it didn't. Now I feel like I wasted money on a transfer case while mine was still good. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why my truck would slip in 4 low? The tranny is rebuilt with roughly 30,000 on the clock since the rebuild. Any help will be greatly appreciated. As some of you know, I threw in the white towel and took it back a month or so back. I'm keeping my truck and basically throwing money at it to get it as close as possible to 100% functional.

Anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing the problem for me?

What exactly are you calling slippage? When in 4Lo it will feel like its not going to go anywhere as you just dropped your gearing to about 40:1. On my Blazer if your in 4Lo and try to turn its not easy. It will come to a complete stop real fast!

I would find someone else with a Blazer and see if theirs does the same thing.

Well, the front diff engages in 4 high so... yeah. I don't know if that means anything.

When in 4 low, if I go to accelerate from a stop, it goes for a second, then it slips, or at least that's what it feels like what's going on. I should probably have someone else look at it for a second opinion.

I know it's an old thread but I was searching and came across this. I have the same issue on my '99. So maybe it's common.

I've learned that's how 4 low works. Climb a hill with it on. It's not an issue. Basically, I ended up swapping out a working transfer case for another working transfer case. That was money I didn't need to spend

Unhappy my 2000 blazer does the same and more

When I switch to get 4 high it automaticly goes to 4 low it only goes in 4 low and last winter it got stuck in 4 low I added fluid to the tranfer case and got it back to 2 high and my 4x4 fuse burns out each time I press any of the 4x4 butons on the dash I replaced the buttons on the dash and still does the same. I had a 91 k5 blazer never had a problem with the 4x4
so how many things need to be replaced

Well, I've got a TCCM, encoder motor, and a vacuum switch I'll sell you. The issue you're having sounds like the encoder motor and the vacuum switch.

This is something I definitely like about my Jeep better. The transfer case is a manually controlled transfer case. There's no vacuum lines or electric motors to control it. There's a lever on the floor that is connected to linkage that actually manually switches the transfer case. There's less to go wrong.
